UMRBA delivered letters to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Northwestern Division Commander articulating its member states interest in Missouri River management. UMRBA's comments focused on the interconnectedness of the Mississippi River Basin's major subwatersheds, the strong influence of the Missouri River to the Middle Mississippi River (between the Missouri River and Ohio River confluences), concerns of potential out-of-basin water diversions, and involvement of UMRBA member states and stakeholders.
These comments were provided in response to the Corps' scoping sessions and publication of the Missouri River Authorized Purposes Study (MRAPS) March 4, 2011 draft Scoping Summary Report (April 27, 2011).
